The Kennels

At Hazel Tree House we believe that your dogs' individual requirements are as important to us as they are to you. Our size means that we are small enough to ensure that your dogs' needs are met with one-to-one care.

The kennels are constructed of insulating blocks and each has a window and a full height door. Each kennel has individually controlled heating. The smallest kennel is 6' x 6' with a 6' x 12' covered run attached and our largest kennel will accommodate 4 Great Danes.

Feeding

As we feel that changing your dogs' usual food is likely to cause unnecessary stress, special care is taken to make certain that your dogs' preferred dietary requirements are met. This is guaranteed along with any extra special wishes you may have.

Therefore, although we stock all major brands of food, in the case of special items; treats, prescription foods etc we ask that you bring these with you, to prevent disappointment.

All dogs are usually fed once or twice daily and in accordance with your instructions but we will feed as often as your dog is fed at home.

In the prevention of disease we only use the finest stainless steel bowls for feeding and drinking water.

Medication

Should your dog be on medication this will be administered as per your Veterinary Surgeon's instructions, the dates and times will also be logged in our Medication Diary. All dosages are double checked by the supervising senior staff member.

In the case of diabetic dogs, urine tests can be made before an insulin injection is administered.

Please bring any medication in the original dispensing containers, this will prevent any misunderstanding.

Bedding

We encourage you to bring your dogs' own beds and bedding this will give a sense of security from familiar things for your dogs. Bedding must be easily washable in a domestic machine.

Grooming

Regular and routine grooming is undertaken as a matter of course so all we ask is that your dogs are brought to us in an easily maintained condition. This is especially important if we are to maintain our high standards. We will not under any circumstance accept any dog that is showing signs of flea infestation.

Our newly established Grooming Room is available by appointment for a professional service to meet any additional grooming requirements you may have.
